Visited here whilst on holiday in August 2025. Id seen it advertised and had never been to the area and wanted to go. The views and surrounding area is fantastic. We only managed to have a drink here,as food was only served from 5.00pm and a lot of tables were reserved and it was a sunny day,so all the outside tables were took up quickly. From 5.00pm it was very busy,as everyone seemed to come all at the same time. Lovely views from the outside over looking the river. Would definatley visit again and try to have a meal next time. Very picturesque
We went as a family for a meal to celebrate my birthday and would highly recommend booking a table especially if it's for a special occasion. The staff were so kind, friendly knowledgeable and attentive and the meal was fantastic. The Shipwrights is in a fantastic location but if you have mobility problems I would suggest you check out parking as we parked in a car park about 10 minutes walk away (which for me was perfect and a beautiful walk down past some really old cottages and across a narrow bridge. Therefore the return journey is up hill.) Is dog and child friendly. I would definitely return here.
We had the MOST fantastic time staying in the glorious new rooms at the Shipwrights. Waking up to the water just outside the room and the noise of fishing boats buzzing and happy birds tweeting was pure heaven. The rooms were warm, comfortable and we had everything we needed. The fridge and tea in the room was super helpful & homely. Will be back soon X
Very very nice pub on the Helford River. Lots of character. We didn’t have the toast but it looked delicious..
Stunning location on Helford creek. Daily specials board. Good selection on main menu. Table service with gratuity included on bill Recommend seafood platter. Also good fish and chips. Outside tables on river edge.
Excellent location and views across the Helford estuary. While the menu isn't extensive, the food is of good quality and sizeable portions. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are welcoming and friendly, and dogs are welcome.
We stopped for lunch whilst walking the SW Coast Path. Two Cajun chicken baguettes plus chips - great food and much needed after the rain! Stayed for a few drinks whilst we waited for the ferry to resume service (low tide). Lovely views! Friendly staff.
Stunning pub in a beautiful location, the food is beautiful stunningly well presented staff friendly with log fire to pet friendly, recommend table 7 for the view.
